THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15

*Utah 23 - TCU 16--Schizophrenic TCU an early-season candidate for a visit from Dr. Phil after wildly-disparate efforts to open campaign. Meanwhile, success-oriented Utah almost performing like Urban Meyer and Alex Smith are still around after running win streak to 18. Don't trust Frog "O" that's blowing hot-and-cold with QB Gunn erratic (only 16 of 36 at SMU) and key RB Hobbs (groin) hurting. Ute attack getting better by the minute as soph QB R. Johnson (18 of 21 vs. Utah State) matures in a hurry. CABLE TV--ESPN2 (DNP...SR: Utah 2-0)

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16

*UTEP 37 - Houston 30--Mike Price is now 31-18 vs. spread his last 49 games as HC at UTEP & Wash. State. And his prolific attack (36 ppg in 2004) was efficient in opener, as Miners led 31-0 at half after jr. QB Palmer threw 3 TDP to 3 different receivers. But not convinced UTEP defense can keep balanced Houston from trading points. QB Kolb and creative Coug offense go down firing. CABLE TV--ESPN2

(DNP...SR: UTEP 2-0)

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17

Virginia 17 - SYRACUSE 13--Last week's 31-0 home romp over bedraggled Buffalo not a buy sign on Syracuse. After all, soph QB Patterson has only 224 YP and no TDP in first 2 games at helm of new Orange West Coast attack. And much tougher sledding for premium RB Rhodes (236 YR & 4 TDs vs. Bulls) against rugged Virginia defense. Still, speedy Syracuse stop unit should keep game tight against a Cav offense trying to replace LY's top rusher & top 3 receivers. CABLE TV--ESPN

(04-VA. 31-Syr. 10...S.20-17 V.39/225 S.38/113 V.11/12/0/202 S.15/23/0/141 V.0 S.0)

(04-VIRGINIA -26 31-10...SR: Syracuse 2-1)

LOUISVILLE 45 - Oregon State 20--OSU has obviously found a new QB in UCLA transfer Matt Moore (279 YP in comeback vs. Boise). And presence of glue-fingered WR Hass (11 catches last week) a concern for rebuilt UL 2ndary. But Beaver "O" still one-armed until infantry provides some consistent diversion. Much prefer Cards' balance with physical specimen, 6-3, 250 RB Bush complementing QB Brohm, who will relish chance to attack OSU's own new-look 2ndary. LV perfect 5-0 as home chalk LY. CABLE TV--ESPN2 (FIRST MEETING)

MICHIGAN 45 - Eastern Michigan 10--According to Michigan HC Lloyd Carr, "We lost a football game, but I think we found a defense," in 17-10 setback vs. Notre Dame. Wolverine offense should snap back to life vs. EMU despite loss of soph RB Hart to hamstring injury. Rebuilt Eagle defensive front allowed 5.2 ypc vs. Cincy & Lafayette, and EMU QB Bohnet will have problems moving the ball on evolving Michigan defense. CABLE TV--ESPNU (DNP...SR: Michigan 6-0)

West Virginia 14 - MARYLAND 13--Ralph Friedgen has covered all 5 meetings with Rich Rodriguez since each took over at his alma mater. But no surprise if Rodriguez' Mountaineers (12-5 vs. spread as visitor since 2002) able to eke out another SU win over rival Maryland. Favor gang-tackling WV defense (only 257 yards in first 2 games!) over young Terp platoon that has some holes on DL and in 2ndary.

TEXAS A&M 44 - Smu 10--Kudos to SMU for upsetting TCU and scoring its biggest win since receiving the "Death Penalty" in 1989, with the Mustangs paced by 6-2, 200 RS frosh RB DeMyron Martin (3 TDs, 118 YR vs. Frogs). But bigger, deeper, rested A&M in a nasty mood after blowing opener at Clemson, for which Coach Fran must redeem himself for not trying to extend lead in late going by trying a 2-point conversion. Side with the power. (DNP...SR: Texas A&M 40-29-7)

VANDERBILT 21 - Mississippi 20--Now that Vandy has learned how to finish games with 2 straight come-from-behind road wins (first consecutive road victories since '99!), not surprised to see 'Dores snap 5-game series losing streak vs. Ole Miss. But that victory will be tough to earn vs. Ole Miss defense that held QB Cutler to supbar effort (only 9 of 17, 1 int.) in bitter OT loss at Oxford LY.

(04-MISS. 26-Van. 23 (OT)...M.21-18 V.47/183 M.39/170 M.23/36/0/195 V.9/17/1/131 M.1 V.1)

(04-MISS. -6' 26-23 (OT) 03-Miss. -13 24-21 02-MISS. -22 45-38...SR: Mississippi 45-32-2)

Toledo 52 - TEMPLE 14--Can't trust suspension-depleted Temple to hang in with high-octane Toledo. Owls have yielded 128 points in first two games, as Temple HC Bobby Wallace has nothing but headaches right now. Rocket QB Gradkowski completed 22 of 27 passes against Temple last season, and he has an array of four quality RBs at his disposal & has already hit 12 different receivers in the first two games.

(04-TOL. 45-Tem 17...To.22-15 Te.40/139 To.38/129 To.22/27/0/276 Te.15/36/1/205 To.2 Te.2)

(04-TOLEDO -7' 45-17...SR: Toledo 5-2)

PENN STATE 27 - Central Michigan 10--While Penn State is obviously improved with infusion of young skill people, Nittany Lions aren't a finished product offensively. CMU true frosh RB Ontario Sneed (33 carries, 233 YR first two) has given Chippewa attack a more varied look, and QB Kent Smith has connected with jr. WR Damien Linson 7 times for 273 yds. (39 ypc). Points worth taking. (FIRST MEETING)

AUBURN 45 - Ball State 0--Although Ball State surprisingly gave Bowling Green a scare in 40-31 home loss week ago, that will only serve to keep a stifling Auburn "D" from complacency here. Expect AU's capable QB Cox (scouts say he's showing more leadership) to get untracked vs. porous Card defense that's yielded 96 pts. so far. It's many men vs. few boys (several starters still suspended for BSU) in this blowout. Cards just 1-7 as DD road dog since '03. (DNP...SR: Auburn 1-0)

Baylor 22 - ARMY 20--Baylor a rising team under Guy Morriss, but Bears not as far advanced as powerful BC team that Army trailed 30-7 at H last week. BU 8-17 SU under Morris, but rushed for only 137 YR last week vs. Samford, leading only 24-14 in the 3rd Q. Black Knight defense has tackling problems, but Cadet RB C. Jones is solid & QB Dahman (13 of 32, 2 ints. at BC) is a veteran. (DNP...SR: Baylor 2-0)

*WAKE FOREST 30 - East Carolina 24--Sure, Demon Deacons desperate to avoid 0-3 start. And Wake's relentless ground game should eventually bludgeon thin ECU defense into submission. However, no reason why vet Pirate QB Pinkney (17 of 21 in opener) and electric juco WR Allison (10 catches for 163 yards & a TD) can't make this a 60-minute battle. Jim Grobe just 5-13 as fav. since taking over at Wake.

(04-W. For. 31-E. CAR. 17...W.24-17 W.57/240 E.23/236 W.16/21/1/344 E.20/40/2/233 W.1 E.0)

*BOSTON COLLEGE 20 - Florida State 16--Is there still a "class" difference between these two? FSU does have more overall speed & depth on defense than BC. But balanced Eagle attack rates a significant edge over a Seminole offense that has very green QBs. Experienced BC sr. QB Porter (10 starts prior to redshirting LY) has been razor sharp so far, hitting 42 of 55 with 4 TDP and no ints. in first 2 games. And his front wall among nation's best. Fundamentally-sound Eagle defense has game-altering presence in sack-happy sr. DE Kiwanuka. REGIONAL TV--ABC (DNP...SR: Florida State 2-1)

NOTRE DAME 27 - Michigan State 26--Notre Dame's 2-0 start impressive, but a more-disciplined MSU QB Stanton has led Spartans to a pair of wins and 1184 yds. of offense thus far. Irish HC Weis has put his players at the right place at the right time so far, but ND might find it difficult to muster third straight "up" effort. Host of Spartan weapons led by mobile QB Stanton will strain Irish defense. TV--NBC

(04-N. Dame 31-MICH. ST. 24...N.19-18 N.48/173 M.35/165 N.11/24/1/215 M.15/34/3/176 N.2 M.3)

OHIO STATE 42 - San Diego State 10--Ohio State should be in an ugly mood after blowing lead in final minutes against Texas. SDS defense hasn't shown it can stop anyone yet, yielding 85 points combined to UCLA & AF. Buckeyes have the offensive depth to bury the Aztec defense, and HC Tressel might jumpstart attack with move to Troy Smith at QB. REGIONAL TV--ABC (03-OHIO STATE -31' 16-13...SR: Ohio State 2-0)

UCLA 30 - Oklahoma 20--UCLA hasn't been scoring this much (54 ppg!) since the days of Gail Goodrich and Walt Hazzard--even if subpar opposition the main factor. But what is OU's excuse for loss vs. TCU and life-and-death struggle vs. Tulsa, both at Norman? Big XII sources say rebuilt OL far from settled, and Sooners likely to rely almost solely on Adrian Peterson's runs until Bob Stoops gets more confidence in his QBs (he's already switched to RS frosh Bomar). Bruins oozing big-play ability with homerun RB Drew (2 PR TDs already!) doing nice Reggie Bush impersonation. REGIONAL TV--ABC

(03-OKLAHOMA -19 59-24...SR: Oklahoma 3-0)

NEBRASKA 21 - Pittsburgh 16--Dave Wannstedt probably happy to be on road after Pitt's 16-10 OT loss at MAC rep Ohio last week. Not much to recommend on either offense. Panther attack has produced only 1 meaningful TD in first 2 games; Nebraska's fledgling West Coast just 2. Opportunistic Husker defense (4 TDs, 16 sacks TY!) the difference, but might need some help from offense to get cover. REGIONAL TV--ABC

(04-Neb. 24-PITT 17...15-15 N.43/123 P.25/30 P.22/45/3/228 N.11/23/1/142 N.0 P.1)

(04-Nebraska -4' 24-17...SR: Pittsburgh 15-5-3)

SOUTH CAROLINA 17 - Alabama 16--Have trouble laying any points to resurgent South Carolina, which played loaded Georgia off its feet in 17-15 setback week ago. 'Cocks accurate soph QB Mitchell (40 of 57 so far) is keeping Spurrier from tossing his visor, while bruising FB Turman (7 catches vs Dawgs; suspended for opener) is reliable dump-off receiver. Sure, Bama sr. QB Croyle (missed LY's meeting) has regained his form, but he'll be severely-tested by shifting DL & tight-covering USC 2ndary (return of injured CB Joseph big plus) that held UGA QB D.J. Shockley in check. REG. TV--CBS

(04-S. Car. 20-ALA. 3...S.15-9 S.54/203 A.28/143 A.10/24/4/67 S.4/11/1/46 S.2 A.0)

(04-South Carolina +2 20-3...SR: Alabama 10-2)

VIRGINIA TECH 43 - Ohio 3--Hokies have been quick starters under Frank Beamer, covering 70% of their first 6 lined games of the season since 1998. Ohio offense has produced one TD in two games. CABLE TV--ESPNU (DNP...SR: Virginia Tech 2-0)

WASHINGTON 33 - Idaho 27--Any thoughts of Ty Willingham authoring a quick fix at U-Dub have been dismissed about as quickly as the Mariners' pennant hopes after Huskies' slow break from gate. Although UW might finally get its first win in 11 months, a leaky and battered 2ndary will force Huskies to hold on for dear life vs. juiced-up Idaho "O" and strong-armed juco QB Wichman (390 YP in easy cover at UNLV).

(03-WASHINGTON -26' 45-14 02-WASHINGTON -31 41-27...SR: Washington 33-2-2)

Miami-Ohio 35 - KENT STATE 24--Miami-O. is off an upset loss to C. Michigan, and trust RedHawk QB Josh Betts to produce more than Kent State counterpart Michael Machen, who completed just 17 of 42 passes at home against Missouri State last week. Containing Miami WRs Martin Nance & Ryne Robinson (16 catches each) will be tough assignment for youthful Flash 2ndary.

(04-MIAMI 47-Kent St. 27...22-22 M.38/116 K.36/58 K.28/44/1/361 M.19/29/0/308 M.0 K.3)

CALIFORNIA 41 - Illinois 16--Cal QB Ayoob shook off his nervousness last week at Washington and showed why many thought the juco would be the starter for the Bears this season. After 0 for 10 passing start in opener and throwing an int. on his first attempt last week, Ayoob has connected on 17 of 26 with 4 scores and no ints. since. Illinois QB Brasic had the Illini offense humming vs. San Jose, but Cal defense will be a much tougher task.

(03-California +4 31-24...SR: Illinois 7-2)

*Rutgers 42 - BUFFALO 14--HUGE edge for loaded Rutgers attack over bumbling Bull offense that has mustered only 6 first downs in each of its first 2 games. Knight sr. QB Hart (no ints. so far after 19 LY) making better decisions. And versatile jr. RB Leonard (from nearby Gouverneur, NY) fired up in front of family & friends. He'll have big game against Buffalo defense that's already permitted 638 YR.

(03-RUTG -11' 24-10 02-Buff +7' 34-11...SR: Rutgers 3-1)

*Kentucky 30 - INDIANA 27--HC Terry Hoeppner said he liked Indiana's defensive speed during preseason drills. We wonder if his opinion changed after the defense was torched for 409 rushing yards at home against Nicholls State last week? Kentucky has won three straight in the series, and 'Cat QB Woodson has completed 68% of his passes (0 ints.) while RB Rafael Little has rushed for 6.5 ypc. CABLE TV--ESPNC

*SOUTH FLORIDA 24 - Central Florida 23--Rush edge to Bulls & star RB Hall (1357 YR on 6.5 ypc LY), who had 156 YR & 3 TDs in last week's win over Florida A&M. But return of WRs B. Marshall & M. Walker (combined 19 catches for 207 yards in opener) to UCF offense (injuries forced both to switch to 2ndary LY) a huge boost for improving QB Moffett. "Take" with motivated Golden Knights, who are trying to end their 16-game losing streak (longest in nation). (FIRST MEETING)

*Wisconsin 28 - NORTH CAROLINA 27--Badger offense has been in comfort zone so far, bullying for 660 YR in home wins over Bowling Green & Temple. More of same against UNC? Maybe. But Tar Heel defense much tougher in trenches TY. Unless Wiscy able to play "keepaway," new UNC sr. QB Baker (2 TDP last week) has enough receiving weapons to keep home dog in hunt. CABLE TV--ESPN2 (03-WISC. -14' 38-27...SR: Wisconsin 1-0)

*GEORGIA TECH 33 - Connecticut 12--Forget about a "step" up in class. After home romps over Buffalo & Liberty, UConn will need an express elevator this to reach level of GT defense. Husky RBs Brockington & Caulley won't mush very far against tenacious Tech (only 111 YR in first 2 games). And talented Jacket jr. QB Ball (career-high 320 YP last week) playing with more composure TY. CABLE TV--ESPNU

(04-GA. TECH 30-Conn. 10...G.19-18 G.37/122 C.24/20 G.22/38/0/288 C.28/49/0/205 G.1 C.0)

*TEXAS 63 - Rice 17--Only mystery here is final margin, which will likely be left to Mack Brown's mercy. But even after Vince Young pads his Heisman stats early, blue-chip (and hungry) Horn reserves likely to keep scoreboard busy vs. undermanned Rice. Those new shotgun-spread looks appear as ill-suited as some of Bob Knight's slacks for Owls' option-weaned personnel.

(04-TEXAS 35-Rice 13...T.26-16 T.44/339 R.51/172 T.14/24/2/186 R.5/12/0/56 T.1 R.1)

OREGON 31 - Fresno State 30--Mike Bellotti's new Utah-like spread at UO won't be a finished product until Ducks begin making better use of necessary ground dimension, which might not be as easy this week if hot-shot frosh RB Stewart (ankle) can't make post. Such tricky road assignments nothing new for Pat Hill's macho Fresno squad that's covered 7 straight vs. non-WAC foes away from home. Vet Bulldog QB Pinegar has the weapons to make hosts sweat. (02-OREGON -16 28-24...SR: Oregon 3-2)

*KANSAS 38 - Louisiana Tech 10--Although it was only against Div. I-AA Appalachian State, KU appears to have uncovered the weapon it has been seeking to balance its offense in 6-0, 205 Canadian jr. Jon Cornish, who now is 14 for 148 rushing off the bench in first two games. And once-bumbling 6-6 sr. QB Luke is finally maturing into a competent field general. Tech 0-5 its last 5 as a DD road dog, and starting QB Kubik hit only 4 of 18 passes at Florida. And of more than a dozen Bulldogs have lost their homes due to Hurricane Katrina. (DNP...SR: Louisiana Tech 1-0)

Wyoming 31 - AIR FORCE 30--Although spirited AF has overcome DD deficits in both victories so far, Falcons accomplished them vs. a banged-up Washington 2ndary and a heavily-rebuilding SDS defense. Expect well-drilled, experienced Wyo defenders to keep Falcon option from exploding. Meanwhile, Cowboys highly-efficient QB Bramlett able to work play-action now that emerging RS frosh RB Seldon (Texas product went for 121 last week) commanding respect. Glenn's squad has covered 7 straight.

Miami-Florida 17 - CLEMSON 16--Proud Miami hasn't started a season 0-2 since 1978 (when Lou Saban was coach)! And Canes looking to avenge a rare home loss LY to Clemson. But payback won't come easy. Tiger offense (91 rushes, only 46 passes in first 2 games) not just "flippy football" anymore under new o.c. Spence (formerly at Toledo). And sr. QB Whitehurst (32 of 41) handling Spence's wide variety of formations with aplomb. Sure, Miami defense is hellacious. But new Cane QB soph Wright took 9 sacks in opener. He'll get dropped a few more times by speedy Clemson stop unit. CABLE TV--ESPN

*FLORIDA 24 - Tennessee 23--Prefer to take some value with a talent-rich UT squad that has performed nearly impeccably on road lately, going 15-2 SU away since '01 (losses by 7 & 5 pts.). Even with RB Wynn back from suspension, doubt Gators marvelous QB Leak--who is still learning nuances of Meyer's system--goes wild vs. fast, star-studded, deep Vol defense that has reportedly solved its 2ndary concerns. Vols proven QB Clausen (MVP of LY's Cotton Bowl) gets start here. Note, visitor has covered 5 straight in series. REGIONAL TV--CBS

*Tulane 20 - Mississippi State 17--Tulane players thrilled to be playing at all in the aftermath of tragic Hurricane Katrina. So, look for fervent effort from Green Wave squad that owns QB edge with 6-5 Ricard (1881 YP, 21 TDs LY), who scouts say has NFL potential. That's not the case with MSU's limited QB Conner, who's still learning his progressions in the spread. Tulane pretty solid on both lines, and 7th-year HC Sceflo says he has his deepest squad yet. (game moved to Shreveport, La.)

(04-MISS. ST. 28-Tulane 7...M.20-12 M.47/199 T.29/70 T.16/31/2/135 M.10/20/0/111 M.0 T.0)

*NEW MEXICO 38 - New Mexico State 10--Since Hal Mumme's new NMSU "Air Raid" has looked about as lethal as a news traffic helicopter (no meaningful TDs thru 8 Qs!), difficult to make much of a case for struggling Aggies. And things looking up at UNM now that RB DonTrell Moore (94 YR in upset at Mizzou) closer to 100%. Rivalry dog NMSU still stinging after LY's wipeout loss in Las Cruces, but offense untrustworthy.

*Purdue 24 - ARIZONA 23--Before we bestow any team du jour label on much-hyped Purdue, let's see Riveters win some close games (just 6-17 SU last 23 decided by 7 or fewer) or extend margin on road vs. capable opposition. Of which Mike Stoops' improved Arizona would seem to qualify, especially with soph QB Kovalcheck becoming more comfy at controls each week. Cats' hard-nosed "D" well familiar with the Utah-style option looks now in Joe Tiller's attack.

(03-PURDUE -27 59-7...SR: Purdue 1-0)

*ARIZONA STATE 45 - Northwestern 24--Expect Northwestern to trade punches for a few rounds in the desert, especially since true frosh RB Sutton (214 YR last week vs. NIU) providing unexpected support for cool QB Basanez. But Cat 2ndary has been bullet-riddled past few years by premier aerial attacks (25 TDP in '04), and rapidly-maturing ASU QB Keller and his top-notch receiving corps a much different challenge than the slower MAC offenses NU has faced first 2 weeks.

(04-Asu 30-N'WRN 21...N.25-23 N.42/235 A.41/139 A.19/36/0/292 N.21/38/0/228 A.0 N.1)

(04-Arizona State +1' 30-21...SR: Arizona State 3-0)

*Unlv 33 - NEVADA 20--That much-discussed Reno "Pistol" looked more like a popgun in disastrous debut vs. Wash. State. And without evidence that Wolf Pack can actually beat a decent team under Chris Ault, Fremont Cannon likely stays in Vegas another year. Mike Sanford's new Reb spread appears further along, especially if QB Stiechen's fair "Alex Smith imitation" (104 YR & 250 YP) vs. Idaho is any indication. And must seriously question Nevada's chemistry with star WR Flowers benching in first half of WSU game. CABLE TV--ESPNU

*SOUTHERN CAL 45 - Arkansas 7--Since two-time defending national champ USC not resting on its laurels (just ask Hawaii), must lay the lumber vs. self-doubting U of A squad that blew 24-13 4th-Q lead vs. Vandy last week. USC's reigning Heisman Winner QB Leinart & his "weapons of mass destruction" should rip an overmatched Hog defense that allowed 408 yds. hosting 'Dores. Trojans now 11-1 as DD home chalk last 2+Ys. (DNP...SR: Southern Cal 2-1)

ADDED GAMES

GEORGIA 45 - Louisiana-Monroe 0--Since UL Monroe (no pts. in 7 of 8 Qs so far) might need more than Map Quest to find the end zone, must lay it with vastly-superior UGA looking for a dominating, crowd-pleasing effort in its last home game until Oct. 22. Dawgs dual threat QB D. J. Shockley should more closely resemble his Boise State effort (5 TDP, 85 YR) after understandable slippage vs. aggressive USC stop unit last week. (FIRST MEETING)

MISSOURI 34 - Troy 6--Brad Smith & Missouri's new spread-option has put up 44 & 35 pts. first two games, with Smith running for 3 TDs and passing for 5 so far. Tiger defense (62 pts.) has been a different story. But Trojans (26 YR, 4 ints. last vs. UAB) severely offensively challenged. With Mizzou having revenge in mind for LY's televised loss at Troy and HC Pinkel feeling the heat in Columbia, will roll with Smith & Tigers.

(04-TROY 24-Mizzou 14...M.21-14 T.41/172 M.36/112 M.25/46/2/224 T.8/21/3/121 T.0 M.1)

(04-TROY +10' 24-14 02-MISSOURI -12' 44-7...SR: EVEN 1-1)

*MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE 30 - Akron 20--Rest assured MTSU (7 ppg first 2) will soon start scoring more than the Cincinnati Reds. And points should finally start to flow for Blue Raider QB Marks & Co. vs. rebuilt Akron stop unit that Zip HC Brookhart has liberally stocked with frosh. Early reviews of new Akron QB Getsy not bad, but note that even Charlie Frye couldn't outscore MTSU at Rubber Bowl LY.

(04-MTSU 31-AKR 24...A.27-22 A.34/103 M.29/64 A.31/44/1/399 M.33/41/2/339 M.2 A.2)

(04-Middle Tennessee St. +6 31-24...SR: Middle Tennessee St. 7-1)

*OKLAHOMA STATE 34 - Arkansas State 13--Ark. State made Tenn.-Martin look more like Tennessee Ernie in the Indians' dominating 56-7 victory (49-0 after 3 Qs) in Jonesboro. RS frosh Reid now the QB at OSU, with Donovan Woods moving to S. Cowboys produced only 15 & 23 pts. first two games vs. Montana State & at Fla. Atlantic. Can ASU RB Warren (249 YR) & QB Noce score enough for a hang in there? (FIRST MEETING)

*MINNESOTA 42 - Florida Atlantic 14--Minnesota's offense has looked smooth thus far, as QB Bryan Cupito has praised his OL for both the pass protection he's receiving and the many holes for star TB Laurence Maroney and a bevvy of supporting backs gaining 6.4 ypc. But Gophers have key game vs. Purdue next week. Good chance for backups to get playing time.

(FIRST MEETING)

*NORTH TEXAS 20 - Tulsa 17--Will Tulsa be flat or fired up after last week's very competitive loss at neighboring power Oklahoma? Five Middle Tenn. State giveaways allowed run-oriented N. Texas to play its game in opener. Will take OU effort as a sign Golden Hurricane beginning slow ascent. (DNP...SR: Tulsa 13-6)

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21

*BOISE STATE 48 - Bowling Green 45--Older boxing aficionados might liken this to a college FB version of Tony Zale vs. Rocky Graziano (I, II, or III). And no doubt Boise will appreciate getting back on its blue carpet (where it has won 25 in a row) after road losses to open campaign. But since Omar Jacobs has discovered yet another receiving target (RS frosh WR Partridge), no reason BGSU can't trade. CABLE TV-ESPN 2 (FIRST MEETING)

lets break this one down folks. anyone agree or disagree on this prediction ?

(04-TENN. 30-Fla. 28...T.27-20 T.44/171 F.35/135 F.22/31/1/286 T.19/30/1/232 T.2 F.0)

(04-TENN. -3 30-28 03-Tenn. +3' 24-10 02-Fla. +5 30-13...SR: Tennessee 19-15)

If it gets to 4 I will take Florida ,if it gets to 7 I will take Tenn. If it stays where it is I will just watch the game.

TV--NBC

lets hope this is wrong. =)
