Dear TOW posters,
 
Amazingly enough out techies told me yesterday they are well ahead of schedule with the preparation of the new architecture of TheOffshoreWire new back end, the "manager" of the 2005 release of the Web site.
 
At this time we have made some significant modifications to TOW home page which can be considered the first visible "draft" of how content will be organized on the new release.
 
I'd appreciate if you could take a few minutes of your time and take a look at this "draft" and post your comments in this thread.
 
Our goal is to ensure that the new release will be as user friendly and as simple to navigate as possible. In this respect one of the major changes will be the navigation bar (the current one is not well organized).
 
Comments (positive and negative) suggestions and feedbacks are very welcome roll

Its looking more and more like SBR! smhair   What a shock! shocked shocked
 
I did kind of like the picture and the explanation about who and what TOW is/does. For the common forum rat he already knows but for the guy who just clicked over, say from your ad on SBR freaked , you got about 3 seconds to gain credibility before he's gone. On the positive, the link stucture for content works. Just dont forget to convince the newbie the site is worthy of a few minutes of their valuable time.

what are you looking at? i dont think tow homepage looks ANYTHING like sbr....

i like it tow. theres ALOT there but i didnt get bored thats for sure! well done and very informative. im not a expert on these things but i dont see how anyone can find fault with whats there.thumbs up.tongue

John is right.

In the current draft the disposition of content follows SBR's golden rule for the first two topics, Platinum sports books and ratings.

The fact that SBR came to the conclusion that these two topics must be at first sight is the direct consequence of being around for 6 years. I wouldn't say its a copy but rather an obliged route to ensure readers may rapidly access information they are seeking.

This will remain the only similarity between the two sites. The nav bar will be completely different, the wire as well as other features also.

The layout is nice. I don't like the blue color. It's the same with SBR. That blue just doesn't look right. You may want to play with the colors. I'm not good at decorating things but try different shades of green.
