Which are the the elements that induce you to sign up with a book instead of another ?

Do word of mouth, established reputation, advertisement, ratings have a role in your decision making process ?

Ratings is for sure important (SBR. and TOW.) other than that I would say online limits and reputation

I have a list of things I need:

a) betting accounts in Canadian currency - exchange rates/fees would murder me + converting when placing bets is very annoying
b) neteller - if they don't take neteller I can't use them (my credit cards do not allow gambling purchases)
c) deposit and withdraw fees - if there are any fees I will not use them

If a book does not meet those 3 requirements I will not even consider them. If a book does meet these requirements I will then search tow and other sites for reviews to see if they have had any problems (slow pay/no pay etc)

Books that meet my requirements are:
Pinnacle, Sportsinteraction, Mansion, Intertops, Willhill, Bet365, Canbet, Sportingbet, Bowmanbet, Betwwts and Legendz.

Easybets would make the list except they charge 2% on neteller withdrawals. Betroyal was on the list until they slow-paid me 5 days on a $2500 neteller withdrawal. I called them 3 times and had 3 online chats before I was given my money.

hey shaun you are a gambler if you use sportsinteraction, an outfit on the indian reserve off the island of montreal, i had a problem with the actual betting online with them, if you placed a bet and then refreshed the page it would submit your bet again, for example i put $20 on ottawa in hockey one night and it turned out i had $80 on them since i refreshed the page 4 times, i did this on about 5 different wagers til i picked up on it, of course 4 of the 5 bets that had extra money on them lost. I called them and they told me it was my problem and i should have called and cancelled the extra bets....whatever, anyways i think they corrected that problem, but i wouldnt deal with them again.
anyways shaun youve been on fire lately who do you like tonite? :)

Asabace, sorry I didn't get to you earlier, my contest pick was cubs OVER 6.5 and it managed to win. I like St Louis also tonite.

As for sportsinteraction, I haven't had any problems with them. Besides meeting my criteria (mentioned in my above post), they have great baseball lines and have been very prompt processing my withdrawals. (through neteller) They are very very financially stable (TOW told me this), I think they have been online for about 10 years.

Many people say bad things about SIA, but personally I think they are great. My biggest worry is getting callered/banned, as I am up quite a bit from playing baseball dogs there.

shaun, the only way you could win that cubs over play of yours, was be me losing. which i did :(

but, in regards to your possable SIA limit cuts, i can see that happening if you are up a very good chunk of change and, the way i wager, it's just not the place for me to play at.

BBD sorry you had to lose so I could win. The game was tight but once again the cubs pull out some late game antics.

well, back on topic...how do I choose a sportsbook

my #1 consideration is UNIQUE LINES...if a book's lines are entirely the same as another, then it is worthless for me to put my money there (I count reduced juice as "unique" for this)

#2 would be safety/stability

#3 free payout via Neteller, and speed of payout

#4 bonus and/or incentives
