Let's say the US legalizes sportsbetting and it becomes acceptable

what will this do to the guys that are making money now?

Easier, because of more recreational money in the pool?  (kind of how poker popularity is allowing a lot of people to make a killing in online poker rooms)?

Or harder, because more people will see it as a viable "investment", will learn the ins-and-outs and thus creating a whole new generation of sharp bettors?

i don't feel that it would make alot more sharps at all really. i think that there will be alot more people that think they can make a living out of this and lose everything they had though.

the bottom line in being a so called sharp is infomation. and no ordanary bettor really don't have access to that type of info because, it's something a book can't teach you.

a good capper is only as good as his info.
