Wagers Paradise stiff job, lies by Buckeye in that situation, and E-Winner Stiff Job. Luckily the amounts were relatively small, but it still sucks when someone lies to you and steals your money. I was a Camelot player but busted out a week before they folded. It also wasn't pleasant getting money out of Grand Central and Direcbet when they had their problems, but it all wound up OK. I've also played in a lot of other stiff books over the years, like NAB, Abetz, Bring Me Luck, etc, but busted out before they busted out. I've also played at places that were taken over by others, so I didn't lose anything, such as CRIS taking over YABet and ABC Islands(before Jazz did). All in all, I'm one of the lucky ones, but it sucks when I see it still happen to people. |

guesser, sounds like you've had bad experiances with offshore books too.
Actually Dan, I consider myself pretty lucky. I enter plenty of football contests, and the stiff jobs were at new, untested books at the time, like Wagers Paradise and E-Winner that I ran up winnings at, in addition to some of my own funds, to get the contest winnings. But I've learned and won't enter contests or send any of my own money to any book I've never heard of or don't trust. I really debated the Wagers Paradise thing at the time, but trusted the RX. Both they and I were wrong about that stiff joint. Lesson learned. Won't be repeated, hopefully. There are enough great books that run contests to keep me happy, so if I have to skip a Royal or a BCN contest, I'll live :) :)!

Agreed. All the books up top here are solid and have met the test of time. |

I've definitely learned a lot (thanks to folks like yourself in the forums and the like) about where to play.
My main problem is I can't resist a good NFL contest, regardless of who's sponsoring (I can't get enough of the NFL), and those contests can sometimes be with sh&t books.
But I don't win much anyway. The one time I did win something substantial with a sh&t book (with a sh&t rollover), I actually resorted to playing down the balance by trying to pick losers (and playing the other side at another book, attempting to lose as little vig as possible). I was able to do it, but it was a pain.
It's just as tough to pick losers as it is winners. LOL.
Not smart, but I can't resist.
