Players may have noticed that The Prescription has removed Royal's banners.....I believe this is a temporary decision subject to be revoked in the coming day or sooner.
TOW rates Royal Sports 6 ( Low risk ). I have a deep knowledge of that operation. TOW believes that Royal's move to Costa Rica will benefit them in the short term since they have halved their overhead.
I am somewhat puzzled about their current promotions. At the same time I know that Royal's owners have invested MILLIONS in the operation and I believe they are in for the long term.

Everyone should remember that player balances at Royal are covered by Secure Gaming Alliance
You can read about the program HERE |

I thought that Royal moved to Costa Rica? Saw on their casino site that they are still licensed in Netherlands Antilles. Did they only move with the Sportsbook?
|

Cara,
The whole business, sportsbook and casino, has moved to Costa Rica. I believe they have yet to update all their Web sites pages. |

Royal Sports banners have been once again from The Prescription following information transpired today about Royal's ownership. |

Posted By : mvbski - 3/30/2005 9:27 PM |
What is the story with this guy I did a search on the other forums and came up empty |

Posted By : TOW - 3/30/2005 9:30 PM |
mvbski,
Royal was sold nearly two years ago, in August '03. The new owners have honored all bailout programs ( Gamblers Avenue, Blue Marlin ) and have processed payouts for millions to the benefit of thousands of players. These are the facts. |

Posted By : mvbski - 3/30/2005 9:33 PM |
I have no problems with Royal at all,the players the bailed out over the years should be grateful to them but its obvious there not and for SBR well we all know what there agenda is. |

Posted By : TOW - 3/30/2005 9:38 PM |
I respect everyone's opinion on this matter, and believe that each forum or web site shall take their own decisions. However I also believe people should chill out and think for a few minutes with an open mind, basing their judgement on factual elements. Fact is that Royal has paid all players since August '03, fact is that Royal has honored the massive bailouts ( over 500 players ) that took place at the end of 2003. |

did Tej take off with players money before?
If so how can he be trusted to not do the same again?
That seems to be the primary concern that everyone has
What is to keep him from pulling a stiff job like robby from Apex, just pulling out and taking player funds with him?
On the other hand, SGA is covering Royal, those book owners must think everything is on the up-and-up to "insure" them...
in any case I would make sure to update my SGA balances at this time

SBR Costa Rica office reports: Royal Sports (SBR rating D+) requests they be allowed to issue a corrected statement to SBR as to the involvement of Tej which was reported by SBR and 911 and confirmed by Roberto C, Royal’s previous CEO. |

Roberto, how many "active" clients would you estimate that Royal / GA / Lay 107 have at the present time ? |

Posted By : TOW - 3/31/2005 11:53 AM |
Hali,
3500...more or less. |

Posted By : sheva - 3/31/2005 2:21 PM |
wow. I would have guesed for 10000+. Do you now have many active clients a book like Pinnacle have? |

Posted By : TOW - 3/31/2005 10:47 PM |
Sheva,
An yearly average of 3,500 actives equates to as low as 1,000/1,200 actives in slow season with peaks of up to 6,000 actives in high season. This can be considered the size of a mid size book.
I don't have Pinnacle's latest figures but I can tell you that in 2004 they were close to 3 Billions in handle (volume). Keep in mind that Pinnacle caters both Pros and recreational, therefore their average betsize is significantly higher than other operations, hence inflating handle. |

10,000+ active players at a book like Royal that mainly has forum players? I don' think so. My guess would be that Royal has less than 500 active players but it seems a bit low based on Roberto's numbers.
My guess is that Pinnacle has <20,000 active players while a book like Centrebet probably has more than 100,000 active players. |

Slash,
No way does Royal only have forum players!!! Roberto?
all we need is bonus!
|

Posted By : TOW - 4/1/2005 9:42 AM |
slash,
Royal has a wide phone based customer base, close to 60% of their total actives. This customer base has been built throughout the years and represents the nut that has allowed the company to weather most storms. |

Ok, good for them. Surprises me a bit though.
By the way, how is an active player defined from your point of view Roberto (or from books in general)??? |

Posted By : TOW - 4/1/2005 9:56 AM |
An active player is a punter with a funded account who actively wagers. |

Posted By : slash - 4/1/2005 11:01 AM |
If I have a small amount deposited at book x and wagers < once a week, am I then active? |

Posted By : TOW - 4/1/2005 11:02 AM |
You are counted as active for the day you wager, average active for the week and month. |

Posted By : slash - 4/1/2005 3:47 PM |
Ok, thanks for clarifying... |
