I must admit I am a degenerate when it comes to black jack......but my idea of degenerate is that i budget my max loss and eventually chase till I've used it all up. I'd never chase after that.

generally bet 1% of bankroll per play, will occasionally go up to 4-5%

I would recommend most people use a flat betting scheme

If you are in a situation where you can ACCURATELY estimate your edge, you can increase your wagers in proportion to your edge. Unfortunatley most people do not have a good enough handle on their expectation to do so.

I base my % only on the amount of money I have offshore. In other words I completely segregate my "bankroll" for other finances, and believe this is the best way to do it. Even when wagering on credit, I still make plays in proportion to that bankroll.

I don't bother with "streaks", either winning or losing.

im not an aggressive type bettor at all. but, i'm not a conservitive either. i bet according to info i aquire.

if the info is top notch info, i bet it accordingly. if not, i will stick with a standard size bet. but, will not chase betting games but, will chase when i'm in a casino at the craps tables and or the track.

usually its best to stick with a percentage of your bankroll. as your roll goes up, so does your wager amount.

I feel it is best to decide on a system and ride it out for the entire season. Decide my bankroll, break the roll into 1% units, and wager 1 unit per bet, no exceptions. Streaks never effect my bet amount.

EXACTLY what I do

1% plays, I have a mechanical system I use

If I add any plays, I keep them at 1% too

i agree with Shaun and DG stick with a system, i also like to go on due factors

asabace,

due factor isnt really that great an idea imo. its like betting black on roulette because red has come up 15 times in a row. the wheel doesnt care what color comes up.....

asabace, using the "due factor" type logic could leave you in the poor house.

the best example of this type of theroy is san diego because, they lost something like 8 straight before snapping there losing streak.

ya the due factor in a casino will have you chasing, ive learned my lesson

lets take florida for example in baseball, as of last week they just went on a streak of 10 in a row overs, with their pitching staff you know that wasnt going to last, i guess you just have to pick your spots

Posted By : asabace - 7/30/2005 7:10 AM
whats your advice...ride the streak...break the streak or lstay away from it altogether?

Posted By : bigboydan - 7/30/2005 7:16 AM
i would either ride the streak or back off the streak personaly.

DEPENDS on when you catch the streak. if a team has already won 10 in a row, i'd leave it alone. if I just happened to catch it from the first game, i'll ride it out.

well, what about betting into a losing streak RPM

when do you feel it's safe to bet against one, if at all ?

Same thing. if i catch it early, ill ride it. if not, i leave it alone.
