Unlike pros ( wiseguys ) whose action is valued by books as it gives them an hedge on future moves, it is quite common to read movers complain about having their limits cut by books.

Movers' action is not welcomed as it is usually placed a few minutes before games go off the board or right before the screen "goes black".

I'd like to hear other opinions/comments on this subject......

It is no secret that I have moved for different people in the industry over the years.  I don't complain when my limits are cut because I believe it makes good "business sense" to do that...

If I had to guess, i believe it's the followers that complain about this more so than the movers...

IMO, the underlying factor for this is GREED...

I have had my limits cut at a few books. I personally think that it is ok IF they do it after you have won several bets. I don´t think it is ok if a book does it after a guy have won 2 bets on the same day. And worst of all, I don´t believe in books starting with a 2500 limit and then "over night" giving you a limit of 20-50 pr. bet. The best/worst excample that comes to my mind i Intertops!

roberto, i don't bet the games 5 minutes before gametime and my limits are still rather low at pinny i feel. but, it really don't matter to me at all though because, i play with locals all the time accept for tennis, and snooker sometimes.

as much as people complain, it is the books prerogative to set whatever rules they like

now I understand frustration if the books are not being up front about...i.e. a recent story about wagers getting stuck in cue and then cancelled...that is underhanded IMO...if you don't want someone's action, tell them, so they can decide whether to keep playing with you or not
